Mission Statement
The mission of Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is to provide our resident’s high quality skilled rehabilitation and skilled nursing care regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender or family status.

History
The facility was originally built by Florida Hospital in 1958 on land donated by the late Dr. Phillips and was operated as an acute hospital, until 1964, for the delivery of medical services to the black community.

In 1964 the South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists assumed its ownership and operation as a nursing home until 1968. It was at this juncture that Guardian Care, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation was formed to continue caring for the community’s long-term nursing needs.

Leadership
Guardian Care is governed and operated by a community based Board of Directors. There are nine members of the Board who have diverse backgrounds and leadership experiences. The current Board Members are: Alzo J. Reddick, EdD, Chairman, Johnny Richardson, Commissioner Daisy W. Lynum, Mark Garrett, Esq., Jim L. Ricks, Inez Long, Pete Vogt, and Alfred L. Bookhardt, MD.

The Board selected Synergy Healthcare Services of Miami, Florida to manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, because of their vast knowledge of the industry and their demonstrated ability to manage complex facilities. Synergy’s has a team of professionals that are experienced in every aspect and nuance of the long-term care industry. Their consultants insert themselves into daily operations to make every department more effective and efficient; thereby, creating positive lasting results for the organization.
